A Camp Director's First Thoughts
After speaking extensively with Pam Potter, director of the Quincy Notre Dame HS Marching Band, we have formulated a detailed schedule that the Valiant staff will use as a guide for an intense week of instruction (August 3‐7, 2009).
During this one week camp, QND students will be exposed to approximately 40 hours of instruction in marching and playing fundamentals, leadership training, rehearsal skills training, in addition to learning and executing their entire marching show on the last day.
Using music provided by Gary P. Gilroy Publications as a guide, Valiant Marching Band Concepts will provide custom designed, progressive musical exercises to the students at QND one month in advance to prepare them for the most positive musical experience possible.
The Valiant staff is very excited to be working with the QND band this year in cooperation with BandDirector.com, Gary P. Gilroy Publications, Kurtzweil Designs and Dr. Paul W. Popiel.
