First of all, a sincere thank you to banddirector.com for this honor. We are a small private (Catholic) school and never dreamed that anything like this would come our way.
I am very impressed with the interaction from everyone involved in this project. Aaron Hines from Gary P. Gilroy Publications helped me select music which is scored for a small band. Scott Kurtzweil is working with our numbers and instrumentation to design a drill to fit our needs, our experience level and our expectations.
Chris Walls of Valiant Marching Band Concepts has been unbelievably helpful. Chris has managed my band camp in the past and his rapport with the students, staff and parents is beyond reproach. He is the consummate professional at all times, he is totally organized and manages to attain the set goals.
The students and I are anxiously looking forward to this year’s ‘band camp’. The music is challenging and our goals are set high. The 2009 banddirector.com Drill Design Project will be a tremendous help to our band program.
