Special Opportunity for Student Composers

Banddirector.com is pleased to announce a special commission project in partnership with the Wisconsin Music Educators Association and Jupiter Band Instrument Co.

Composer Rick DeJonge is offering an opportunity for music students to submit a theme for his composition that will be premiered at the Wisconsin State Music Conference.  Jupiter Band Instruments Inc. is awarding a $500 scholarship to a student of a WMEA member who submits an eight-bar melody that is chosen as the basis for DeJonge’s composition.

The commission will be premiered at the 2009 Wisconsin State Music Conference and include a special performance by the Boston Brass.
