The Northland Youth Music Program (N.Y.M.P.) began six years ago. The Program was started by a group of parents and interested citizens who recognized the need for affordable high quality extracurricular music programs for students in 6th through 12th grade. The N.Y.M.P. provides students participating in a school band, choir, or orchestra program (unless in alternative schooling) high quality extracurricular music opportunities without regard to their ability to pay tuition. No student is left out of our program because of inability to pay tuition. The N.Y.M.P. offers four one week programs, including two weeks of choir, concert band, and jazz band. Week three and four are the jazz education programs, where students participate in jazz ensembles, combo experience, and learn basic to advanced improvisation skills.
