I am looking for a festival to take my high school Jazz Band. Preferably one that is not the type where they just sit in a room with 3 judges. I would like an audience. We live in NY so something in the North East would be good.

You might want to check out the Berklee High School Jazz Festival in New York - the website is: http://www.berklee.e...st/default.html. It happens in February, but maybe next year!

Berklee Festival is great. That's the only one other then the Heritage Festivals I have experience with. Great audiences at Berklee and a ton of groups. The school I went with always places high so it was a real fun experience. Something I won't forget anytime soon.

Try Jazz at the lincoln center's Ellington showcase. youwill get some great tunes to boot.
